Secure a Membership in our 9 Week Spring 2017 CSA
Willow Wood Farm and Jackie’s …Naturally have teamed up to offer a 9 week vegetable, Microgreens and free-range egg Spring/Summer CSA. Shareholders will receive weekly boxes of naturally grown fresh produce, Microgreens & eggs.
We are now accepting 15 members on a first-come, first-served basis.
What is a CSA? Community Supported Agriculture! You, the shareholder, buy a share in the farmer’s products and pick up a weekly box of yummy goodies from our farms. Our 2017 Spring/Summer CSA will run for nine weeks, from May 2nd to June 27th. Pickup will be at the Burnsville Health & Nutrition store on South Main Street on Tuesdays from 2:00 – 4:00. You are welcome to find someone to share a box with you or sign up for a half-share and pick up a box every other week if you prefer.
How much will it cost? Just under $30 per week! And you will know exactly where your food comes from and exactly how it is grown or produced.
Your weekly CSA box will contain a combination of what is available for the growing season. Plus, we only grow naturally – no pesticides or fertilizers not approved by organic certification. Some of the products you might see in your weekly box are:
- Free range eggs (non-GMO & non-soy feed)
- Cabbage and/or chinese cabbage and Pak Choy
- Kale and/or other spring greens (turnip, mustard, beet greens)
- Lettuces and salad blends
- Tomatoes, peppers, green beans, cucumbers, eggplant, squash**
- Radishes and/or peas and pea pods
- And perhaps an occasional treat like baked goods!
** Please note: We grow with the season, so you will be eating with the season – the healthiest way! No tomatoes in May and no kale at the end of June. That’s fake, greenhouse produced food and that’s not what we’re about.
About Your Farmers
Sandie Beal, from Willow Wood Farm, has been gardening since she was a child. But in addition to a lifetime of experience, she holds a degree in Horticulture and really knows what she’s about! Growing up in Madison County on the family farm, Sandie has been passionate about growing quality food her whole life. She produces beautiful vegetables using only the best, all natural practices.
Jackie Wall, from Jackie’s …Naturally, started growing microgreens to improve her own health. Only certified organic seed is used to grow a beautiful (and nutritious!) blend of microgreens that may include Black Oil Sunflower, Daikon Radish, Dwarf Gray Pea Shoots, Red Russian Kale, Broccoli and Garnet Amaranth.
